Sir Usain Bolt – come on down

August 21, 2009

Usain Bolt smashes the 100m and 200m world record in Berlin. This is absolutely historic for this is where Jesse Owens first ran to take four gold medals whilst a waiting Hitler was watching.

But for Britain why is Usain good? It’s sport for one, he’s Jamaican for two, but when we watch Usain’s celebrations he consistently sticks up the “V;” the peace “V.”

This man is an absolute positive role model for Black men and young people of West Indian origin in this country and I am convinced Britain is Bolt’s adopted home. Watch his running; he is an absolute powerhouse.

Can he do better? Will the records go again? Maybe, and at 22 Usain is already a legend. Beyond Usain there is no one that can currently touch him, but I do wish he would drive slower in his BMW M3. Sir Usain, you wouldn’t fancy joining the police service, would you?

  1. He’s actually really funny too; he was interviewed on Top Gear recently.

I think he will beat his own record, and pretty soon too!

Wow…and what exactly have I accomplished by the age of 22!?!?

  2. Chapati, oo-er now that’s a question. You do kind of write well though.

Usain is a genius and legend. He is perefectly built for running fast. I want him on my team! Anyway, nice to see you back.

  3. So, Bolt got his training in early years by always bolting from the police? The Man?
